This year has been nothing short of transformative for Project Nova. Our commitment to bringing light to those without electricity in the Congo has expanded, and we've ventured beyond our core mission to address the pressing needs of communities facing an ongoing crisis. Your compassionate support has enabled us to provide essential personal hygiene products to these villages and help support the Sourire d'Enfant orphanage in Kinshasa.
The impact of your donations on the children at the orphanage, who have already faced immense challenges in their young lives, is truly heartwarming. Your support has given them hope for a brighter future, illustrating the positive change we can achieve together. Through our donation drive for the Mbenga Foundation, we raised $400, directing every cent toward caring for vulnerable infants often abandoned in unthinkable conditions.
Another significant highlight for Project Nova in 2023 was our participation in North Texas Giving Day. This particular day, dedicated to supporting nonprofits across North Texas, allowed us to raise $385. Your contributions were instrumental in sending personal hygiene supplies, including toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, and feminine hygiene products, directly to those in need in the Congo. These seemingly simple items have made a difference in the lives of individuals who lack access to such necessities.
As we eagerly anticipate the possibilities of 2024, we're excited to share that Project Nova is taking a significant step forward. We are launching a brand new website that will provide information about our mission, providing a platform for individuals to learn more, engage with our initiatives, and contribute to our cause through easy and accessible online donations.
Additionally, we are thrilled to introduce Project Nova apparel, a meaningful way for supporters to connect with our mission visually and contribute to our cause. The proceeds from Project Nova apparel sales will go directly towards spreading light and hope in the villages of the Congo. This allows you to wear your support proudly, knowing that every purchase contributes to positive change in the lives of those who need it most.
